It's a very safe and easy route to follow, mainly utilising canal towpaths along the Wyrley and Essington, but also the Birmingham canals. The only sniff of a challenge was navigating the muddy puddles over a short section of unsealed towpaths at the Wednesfield end (photos 2 & 3). A good slow way which avoids roads....

It's a decent route which avoids a bit of road walking by utilising an old dismantled railway....

Shops, pubs and links to public transport throughout (multiple bus routes and Bloxwich Railway Station). The section through Rough Wood doesn't precisely follow the route but indicates the direction sufficiently to not get lost. Has unavoidable steps in two places so not completely accessible....
