Continuing left at Baddinsgill farm the path is again easy to follow all the way to West Linton....

Also the very short section on the Lang Whang (A70) often has drivers going quite fast on the long straight, so a lot of caution is required. (the path is obvious coming the other way)....

Mostly good tracks and quiet road from Kirknewton to the bore stane with a short unavoidable walk alongside the busy A70. The section between the bore stane and the path past the Kips was mostly pathless and a bit bumpy over the heather. Another short section by busy road but with pavement this time....

Paths through fields past Kaimes Hill and then the road route down into Balerno is quiet and enjoyable to walk with a nice finish along the Water of Leith....

I took the opportunity to cut down to the canal earlier turning left at West Clifton where there is a sign for Union Canal Parking. This takes you under the Lin's Mill Aqueduct where there are steps up to the canal towpath....
