Help connect Bollington

Many Slow Ways have several route options. Some will be better than others, or good for different reasons.

Our goal is for each Slow Way to have at least one route that is verified and surveyed. To be verified – and get its snail badge – a route needs at least three positive reviews.

Give a hike and help get a for every one of Bollington’s Slow Ways.

An easy to follow wark starting on the well marked path out of Macc by the side of (but mostly out of sight of) the Silk Road, then crosses over the Silk Road on a rather fine foot bridge. The Rout then joins the old railway line to a viaduct, ending with a short stroll up Bollington high street. Nice little stroll....

On the ascent to Taxal Edge, the route as published has an offgrid section linking a lower and an upper path but which traverses scrubland. This makes for rough walking and has the potential to disturb nesting birds. I have proposed an amended route which overcomes this issue....
