I walked this route in reverse (i.e. from Saltcoats to Ardrossan) on a bright day in mid-December 2023. It is a short and straightforward route, accurately mapped and convenient for public transport at both ends On the day I visited, the views over the Clyde to Arran were stunning....

I walked with a small group from Ardrossan South Beach station to West Kilbride station. The route follows the Ayrshire Coastal Path but this isn't well signposted at all times. However the route is fairly easy to follow by following the coast line....
