Description
Alternative route to Wobwob-one which has flight of approx 50 steps. This route contains only single steps but a couple of steep sections and the path is eroded and rough in places. There is a very narrow kissing gate and a kissing gate stuck half way. Not suitable for wheels
From station go uphill following road to Woburn Sands centre, at the double roundabout take Church Road, after approx 20m take left hand Sandy Lane. Follow till bench and take path into the woods. (kissing gate stuck half way) The path forks almost immediately, take the left hand steeper path which soon levels out. The path is easy to follow but is crossed by lots of paths. After field cross road and take opposite path into woods. Route goes round fence of reservoir and then past the ruin of Horsemoor farm. The path continues through open fields to Woburn

Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

27 Mar 2022A nice short walk but with some access issues for wheels due to kissing gates and steep hills.
Walk went through woodlands, arable fields and built areas.
Easy route to follow - only one path through a field was a few meters off from the marked path, but easy to follow to the required gap in the hedge.
Would walk again!.

27 Mar 2022Walked this from Woburn Sands to Woburn. A totally passable route as part of Slow Ways. Some steeper sections might be tricky, and kissing gates and steps make this not for wheels. There are many paths in Aspley Heath, which might make things easier for steepness but didn't investigate this time and would make the route longer.
Uneven camber through the wooded sections, especially in mini gullies could be tricky, especially in winter.
Otherwise, a lovely walk, bookended by the two historic towns and with good views across farmland and heath.

16 May 2021This is a pleasant short walk, first bit through Woburn Sands continuing through Woburn Woods and over arable fields to Woburn. Unfortunately because of the kissing gates not suitable for wheels.
The Woburn woods are popular with walkers and lots of paths criss cross through the woods. This route takes one of the major tracks. There are benches at the first bit of the woods.
There is one minor road to cross, watch out for fast cyclists coming down the road. After a short section of woods the route comes to arable fields. Again there are quite a few paths which are all well used.
After the ruins of Horsemoor Farm the path goes through the hedge behind 2 mature trees.
Woburn is a well preserved small Georgian town.
