Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

19 Jun 2023 (edited 18 Jun 2023)This is a nice easy walk from Tyldesley to Worsley.
It’s mostly flat and should suit people of must ages. It also should suit people with pushchairs and bikes and possibly wheelchairs as the route is on mostly firm pathways.
Starting in Tyldesley a short walk will take you to a pathway alongside the guided bus route. It’s an easy walk however I would say that this part of the walk is not so interesting depending on who you may meet along the way!
Reaching Ellenbrook there is a good Co op should you need refreshments. Leaving Ellenbrook you will cross the road onto a tree lined walkway with leaved canopy. This is a more pleasant section of the walk in my opinion. You will follow looplines signs towards Roe Green along this section. There is a nice coffee shop at Row Green but you will need to walk up steps if you want to call in. So this optional and you can just carry on if you like.
Further on you will reach the bridges at the M60 and you should turn right towards Worsley woods. Again a pleasant section of the walk ultimately taking you to Worsley roundabout and St Marks church where the route finishes.
I would say that the route should be reasonably safe during the day as it seems well used by locals.
