Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

19 Jan 2022Runs alnong stream for first mile or so, so muddy. Road crossing not obvious and path disappears totally before reaching Swindon Village. Go south to find a track that works better. Swindon Village into central Cheltenham much easier and options will be wheel friendly.
Will try again to suggest changes.

12 Sep 2022I walked it in the other direction in Sept 22 -- the bit Mark says about the path disappearing is the section below Tredington, between Tredington and the M5. Path crosses fields but has not been kept clear, field edges are hard going. There are occasionally markers at the field boundaries but hard to find. Not advised. A new route would need to avoid those fields entirely, possibly staying above Tredington instead.

30 Jul 2023Walked in July 23 - I found the same as AmeliaH - just on the Tredington side of the M5 the path goes through fields, and it was impassable. There is no path, the farmer has made no attempt to preserve the right of way. The Tewkesbury Pilgrimage route uses the same routing, but the field was 3 feet high with crops and messy with stingers, no trace of any path. I gave up and took the road to Tredington - not a nice road as there's no pavement.
Unfortunatley, this way just fails at this point, as there's no alternative except the terrible road.
