Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

07 Aug 2021A pleasant route mainly through countryside. As you approach the lake before the A600 Bedford Road take the footpath to the right towards a new housing development and then go left to the road, which has a pavement. You pass RAF Henlow and leave the B659 as it turns left to walk straight on past MOD housing to reach the countryside. More MOD housing is currently being built here. There are a couple of bridges across ditches that have bars across them that you need to step over. There are fairly steep steps when you cross the railway line. Just outside Stotfold you have to cross the busy A507 so take care as the traffic is fast moving. On the other side of the road go right (not marked) and you soon end up in a field on the left to continue the walk to Stotfold. Overall an enjoyable route. I attach photos of the route between Meppershall and the Bedford Road, the route by the MOD housing, one of the bridges across the ditch and the railway bridge.
