Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.
Help people know more about this route by volunteering to submit a survey.

12 Oct 2023 (edited 13 Oct 2023)Started well but came a cropper in three places. Coming from Forshaw Heath, the footpath runs as far as the M42 and is marked as then running parallel to the motorway before joining Forshaw Heath Lane. I found the path to be too overgrown to follow, so I doubled back and followed the footpath which passes through Oak Tree Farm Park. I walked down Juggins Lane to see if there was access to the footpath from there but it was fenced off and overgrown. I suspect this might have been done in the name of "security" as there is a community of static caravans down there. I found the entrance to the path on Forshaw Heath Lane but it can't extend further than a short field. The paths between Icknield Street and Dagnell End Road start at a rickety stile and the first overgrown field was reasonably accessible, but then at the far end of the field, the footpath has been filled with rubble from demolitions, as illustrated by cables protruding. I managed to find a gap in the fence and crossed the next field, but the path was completely overgrown and after a bit of scrambling, and a few cuts, I concluded that this section was a bust too and made my way back to the rickety stile. On arrival on the edge of Redditch, the alleyway from Forge Mill Road is overgrown and inaccessible. I have submitted the route I actually walked as a new route.
