11 Aug 2023I undertook this route, together with Filton to Bristol. It is a route between one urban node and another. There is very little to be said other than it is an acceptable route to get from a to b
Of the 120 + routes undertaken, this would not feature in my top 120 routes.

08 Jun 2022I walk and run all sections of this route regularly. The Filton to stoke Gifford section is suitable for all users, all paths, Some shared with bikes and scooters. Heading north of hatchet Road following the Brook and the nature reserve has sections not suitable for wheels and in winter or after periods of rain can get very muddy so trail shoes or walking boots would be required.
Along the route in Filton you pass near sainsburys and asda with the retail park and tesco express on hatchet road.
This section is uninspiring but the reserve is a lovely peaceful walk.

18 Jan 2022 (edited 19 Jan 2022)This is a decent route through sprawling suburbs. As I passed though I couldn’t help thinking of the last time I visited this area on foot when I was working on a habitat survey around 30 years ago. It was still countryside then, but new houses were marching at an astonishing pace across the fields. A local farmer said that if anyone had told him Bristol would come to his very doorstep in his lifetime he would have laughed them out of the village.... until it happened...
But that was then. On to now. Streams and grown-out hedges are still present beside some of the roads and the route makes good use of these more spacious, greener-edged thoroughfares as well as a couple of footpaths through pockets of woodland.
Most of the way is on safe and sometimes broad shared walking/cycle paths, with one section across a small park and another through a local nature reserve. The rest is along quiet residential streets and paved footpaths through housing estates. However, traffic and roads are a notable presence and there are quite a lot of road crossings.
Surfaces underfoot are almost all paved, with some gravel paths. There are no barriers but in mid January, the suggested route south of the brook through Three Brooks nature reserve, near the Bradley Stoke end (roughly what3words ended.wings.vocal to rabble.filled.potato), was pretty muddy underfoot and no good for wheels or light footwear, while the metal bridge across the stream at the eastern was very narrow, so I suggest wheelers and the less well shod use the surfaced path on the north side instead.

02 May 2021Inevitably much is along busy roads, but always on pavements with crossings. Nice bit through a nature reserve.
