Surveys
We are working to build-up a picture of what routes look like. To do that we are asking volunteers to survey routes so that we can communicate features, obstacles and challenges that may make a route desirable or not.
Slow Ways surveyors are asked to complete some basic online training, but they are not vetted. If you are dependent on the survey information being correct in order to complete a route, we recommend that you think critically about the information provided. You may also wish to wait until more than one survey has been completed.

26 Apr 2024I walked from W Dulwich to Brixton.
Not much to add from the previous reviews, I really enjoyed this walk on a sunny day.
Varied with views and lots to see.
A good route.
Okay for wheels.
Brockwell Park closed after dusk.

09 Jun 2021This walk takes a direct and pleasant route between West Dulwich and Brixton. The West Dulwich end heads up the fairly busy but leafy Rosendale Road - a wide variety of interesting and well-kept architecture can be seen. The path across Brockwell Park has a small hill, but a good path and lovely views of the Shard on a clear day. You head into Brixton on residential roads, apart from the last stretch, which is pretty busy.
As the previous reviewer said, there aren't any other, greener direct routes, and the buildings and greenery are engaging.
The pavements and paths are all good quality with zebra crossings and dropped curves at junctions. Some tree routes raise paving slabs but don't provide huge obstacles for walkers. I'm confident wheelchair users would be able to navigate most too.

03 May 2021This is a perfectly satisfactory route between Brixton and West Dulwich stations. Apart from the section through Brockwell Park it is on roadside pavements, but there are no practical alternatives which avoid roads. There are some gentle slopes but the route is paved the whole way, with the only obstacles being curbs at road crossings. It only gets 3 stars from me because it is not very interesting or scenic, but no alternatives would be any different.
